With little hope about re-signing their star Prince Fielder, the Brewers are now targeting Jose Reyes, who they might be able to sign on a shorter contract than Fielder in despite of both having the same talent, and the main reason are Reyess injuries, which are preventing the 28 year old Dominican from signing an 8 year deal like the one Fielder is looking for. The Mets are hoping that Reyes might consider staying with them, but since offers are higher elsewhere, it is quite possible that we will see the shortstop wearing a different MLB shirt next season.
